What Is The Scientia Derma Roller?
It’s the newest technique or home remedy for wrinkles and fine lines, acne scars and stretch marks. This tiny hand-held device has 192 surgical steel needles that penetrate the top layers of the skin – without damaging it – during which time the skin is better able to absorb anti-aging creams….The pores close within an or so later. In addition, this causes the body to produce collagen which helps to thicken the skin and reduce wrinkles.
How Does It Work?
This technique is called skin needling. As the device is rolled over the skin, it pushes the pores open – temporarily. The body perceives this as damage to the dermis and begins a healing process. This process in turn stimulates the release of growth factors that trigger the production of collagen and elastin.

Acne scars and stretch marks are the body’s healing mechanism – however, it is not a healing process that is complete. With weekly use, skin needling sends a gentle reminder to cause the body to continue healing until the scar or mark is eliminated. The skin renews itself every 40 days or so – so a little stimulation (skin needling) can encourage proper healing without scars and marks.
Can I Use The Roller For Neck Wrinkles?
Yes you can. Hold the skin taunt with one hand and use the other hand to roll up and down 4 times and back and forth (side to side) four times. Roll over any where you have neck lines. Make sure to apply a moisturizer, like emu oil, afterward.
How Often Should I Use the Scientia Derma Roll?
You can use it few times per week, but start out slowly and work your way up. Everyone is different so they will have to move at their own pace. I started out just once a week and now I can handle it about 3 times a week.
How Fast Will I See Results?
The rate you which you get results depends on a lot of factors, however, just one skin needling session can cause the skin healing to go on for months. Most people say they see some results after just one week. I started to notice results after one month. But at that time, I was only using the derma roller twice a month or so.
Does It Make You Bleed Or Hurt?
No! There are two types of rollers – the first type is used in spas and can be a bit uncomfortable - which is why they apply a numbing cream first. This involves the use of a professional roller with a more aggressive application. You should not use this type at home.
The second type is safe for home use, does not hurt or require numbing creams. There are a lot of fakes on the market and you need to be careful which ones you purchase. I only use and recommend the
Scientia Roller. l
The Scientia roller is used with light pressure and can be used more frequently. With this home version, you will feel a slight tickle/pricking feeling, but nothing uncomfortable. If it does hurt – then you’re applying too much pressure. Light, gentle, and easy is the way to this skin roll.
Can The Scientia Roller Reduce Wrinkles And Fine Lines?
Yes, it can be used to treat deep wrinkles, fine lines, in the crows feet area, smile lines, forehead lines), around the mouth, neck, chest, and even the back of the hands.
How Does The Scientia Roller Remove Stretch Marks?
Stretch marks happen when the skin is stretched suddenly and the dermis becomes thin and develops tiny tears. Blood vessels under the skin show through at first giving a reddish color, then when they contract, it becomes purple and eventually fades to white. The skin needling with the roller helps to stimulate collagen production, elastin, and skin fibers. This causes the stretch mark to fill in and the skin to thicken, tighten and restore elasticity. This will take some time -- but it will happen.
