Diagnose My Skin Rash
Hives Relief - Allergy Relief

How can I diagnose my skin rash? Well, if your rash lasts more than a few days, you really should see a doctor to rule out anything serious. Unfortunately, rashes are very common and there are so many different types and causes........making self diagnosis very difficult.

However, if you are currently suffering from rashes or hives, hopefully this page will provide some information to help you understand them better.

Finding allergy/hive relief is important so you can begin treatment as soon as possible. This Diagnose My Skin Rash page was created to help you understand the most common rashes, rash types, causes of rashes, and how to effectively relieve the constant itching.

Diagnose My Skin Rash – Itchy Rashes

Effective Home Remedies A rash is a very general reaction to a wide variety of causes that irritate the skin. The first clue a dermatologist uses to diagnose this condition is the location. Then they consider the color, size, and symptoms associated with it. For example, red bumpy rashes or hives can appear on almost any part of the body including the:

  • face
  • mouth
  • neck
  • underarm or armpit
  • stomach
  • legs
  • feet
  • genital/groin/anal area rash

While the symptoms can vary depending on the cause, the most common symptom is itching, burning, and red blotches/bumps.

Diagnose My Skin Rash - Common Rash Causes

Fungus - Many common rashes are caused by fungus or yeast. A good example of this is athletes foot or tinea pedis. Yeast is also responsible for rashes in the groin and anal area....sometimes called jock itch.

Less common fungal rashes include ringworm which are small red circles or sores on the skin. This type of rash is contagious and will spread to other parts of the body.

Viruses - Viral rashes include: measles, chickenpox, and shingles rash. Also, roseola rash is also caused by a virus and is most common in children.

Bacteria – The more serious rashes are usually caused by bacteria. Examples include syphilis, strep, cellulitis, and Lyme disease. The symptoms are more serious than just itchy skin. Many people may experience pain, bumpy plaques, or pus and oozing. The treatment usually include antibiotics and/or prescription creams. See your doctor if you suspect this type of rash.

Diagnose My Skin Rash - Other Types of Rashes

Here are a list of some other very common rashes. Some of these are more prevalent during the warm summer months. For example:

Hot Tub Rash - This is a form of pseudomonas dermatitis. See pictures here.

Insect bite rash - We've all experienced this mostly during the summer months. This rash usually develops on the legs and arms and often appear as red spots or bumps that usually go away in a few days.

Sun rash - Again, something you’ll find during the summer months. The symptoms include red bumps or blisters that appear on areas of the skin over exposed to the sun.

Underarm rash – This usually develops from excess sweating and sometimes ingrown hairs from shaving.

Prickly heat rash – This appears on areas of the skin covered up or rubbed/irritated by tight fighting clothes. This rash has an intense itchy or prickly feel and may even cause a stinging sensation.

Genital rash – While this may sound scary –it’s usually not a serious condition. This rash is mostly often caused by heat or fungus.

Allergic rashes - People who normally suffer from allergies can often experience a wide range of allergic rashes. from foods to laundry detergent.

Most non-serious rashes will probably resolve on their own after a few days or weeks. But it’s important to treat and reduce the itch which causes more damage and even infection. When in doubt, or if you're experiencing other symptoms like fever or headaches - make sure to see your doctor immediately.

A Cure for All Types of Common Rashes

There are plenty of over-the-counter, temporary treatments for rashes and hives. Anti-itching creams and lotions like Lotrimin, Lamisil, and even Calamine can help.

However, for those who seem more sensitive or prone to these conditions might wish to consider a homeopathic treatment that is sprayed sprayed under the tongue.

If you're prone to rashes or frequently suffer from hives or itchy skin conditions, it's worth trying out this different treatment. They're currently offering a free offer.
