Chemical Peel

by Ann

Hi, I was wondering your thoughts on chemical peels for lines and winkles if they are a good permanent fix. Also do you think retin a is good for wrinkles? Thanks

Hi Ann,

Thanks for your question regarding chemical peels for wrinkled skin.

I am a firm believer in extra exfoliation for skin over 40 years old.

It has been determined that "mature skin" is not able to shed dead cells as easily as younger skin. This is what gives older skin that dull look and the dead cells settle into lines and wrinkles and exaggerate them even further.

Also, chemical peels and creams like Retin-A (which is a slower, milder version of a chemical peel) help stimualate collagen production and encourage healthier new skin cells to develop. ......so over time the skin becomes more smoother and less wrinkled.

So, it's a balance. Your dermatologist can recommend how often a chemical peel can/should be done for your skin type.

Another skin rejuvenating method that's becoming popular a skin eraser. Click causes of hyperpigmentation to read more.

This is similar to how laser and chemical peels work. But they actually damage the upper layers of the skin and cause the body to produce collagen to heal it.

And does not cause such severe and extensive damage. And, there is no downtime for healing.

Finding a balance of these different skin rejuvenating procedures is key for building healthier, smoother skin over time.

Hope this information helped.

Home Chemical Peels

Do you know of any safe home chemical peels?

Hello,

Thanks for your email. Yes, provided you purchase ones that are specifically made for home use. Don't buy strong peels that are meant to be use by professionals skin care experts.

Thanks.

home chemical peels?

by Kathy Gruber
(Ohio)

Hi,

I went to a spa party and the woman applied a home chemical peel, like salic acid or something like that?

Anyway, my skin looked and felt incredible. Really clean and smooth and sort of shiny (not greasy, but like healthy shiny).

Anyway, I wanted to buy it but it was too expensive. Do you have any cheaper alternative suggestions?

Hi Kathy,

Isn't it incredible? What a difference natural fruit acids can make in the look and feel of your skin. You didn't say how old you are - but after the around the age of 35 yrs. we need to manually help encourage natural exfoliation of our skin to keep it looking clean, clear, and smooth. Otherwise, the dead skin cells pile up making our skin look dull and it settles into the little lines and wrinkles making then more apparent.

Yes, I found a very cheap, but very good Renewing Serum that is made from organic ingredients and has both lactic acid and glycolic acid. So it does a number of things, reduces fine lines, increases hydration, reduces sun spots, cleans pores, and makes your skin look so healthy.

Apply a tiny bit of this serum on a cotton ball or (I like a gauze pad) and rub in a circular motion....sort of polishing your skin. You will love the way your skin looks!

Let me know how you like it.

Thanks
