Is there such a thing as vitamin a face cream? I know Retin-A is supposed to contain vitamin a and it works well for wrinkles and acne, but, it's a prescription. I want something I can buy without a prescription. How do I find a good one?
Thanks, Lynn
Hi Lynn,
If you're looking for a vitamin A cream that does not require a prescription, consider trying retinols.
Retinol help reduce dull aging skin by increasing cell turn over which can stimulate collagen production, reduce excess oil and reduce enlarged pores.
A very popular product line is the "Green Cream" retinol.
What's nice about this line is it comes in three different levels/strengths so you can build up gently and avoid side effects.
Also, you can select a stronger cream if you have severe wrinkles and suffer from acne.
The important thing to remember is to start out slowly and build up from there. Retinol products can cause slight irritation - especially for those with sensitive skin. After a month or two you can work up to a stronger cream.
And, make sure to apply a sunscreen daily and stay away from the sunbathing and tanning booths while using these creams.
Technically, you really shouldn't be tanning anyway....as good as it feels and makes us look for a few days....we all know how bad it is for the skin and how much damage it does.
If you desire a hit of color, try a fake tan (like Fake Bake). This one goes on easily and gives a beautiful color - regardless of your natural skin tone. It's even the top choice of celebrities too.
The manufactures of green cream say that over time - with increased collagen production - most people begin to see thicker, plumper skin with a brighter color and smaller pores.
