Is silica supplement the same as collagen supplement - BioSil

I was taking collagen supplements, but recently discovered silica supplements. I would like to know if it is okay to take both, or is it like taking two of the same thing? Thanks.
Hi Janet,
Thanks for your question. Since Silica is not the same as collagen, there shouldn't be a problem taking both, but your just wasting your money because collagen supplements cannot be absorbed and used by the body to make more collagen.
You see silica is a form of silicon. Silicon is a nutrient or a building block that the body needs to make collagen. The advantage to taking silicon over collagen supplements is that the body cannot absorb collagen supplements when ingested. But silicon - specifically a biologically active form of silicon called choline-stabilized orthosilicic acid increases your level of hydroxyproline, which is a key amino acid required for the production of collagen and elastin.
This supplement will increase your collagen levels. And one of the first signs you'll see is that your hair and nails will grow much faster. It's also good for you joints and connective tissues.......and of course helps to maintain stronger healthier skin.
Several studies from the University of Brussels found that people who took
choline-stabilized orthosilicic acid noticed a 30% improvement in fine lines and 55% increase in skin elasticity... in about 20 weeks.
If you want to read more about it, click here BioSil. BioSil is the only supplement on the market that contains this biologically active form of silicon and this was the exact product that the studies were performed on.
I hope this information helped.
