Dear Linda,

I have written to you before and have found your advises extremely useful. I am writing now because I have some questions with which I need help. Some months ago you suggested me using Neova Night Therapy and Replenix 3x. I used them for a while in my whole face including the eye zone and I started to see some results in the wrinkles I had in my forehead.

After more or less 2 months of using them I started using the Dermawand device, and I don't know if it is a coincidence or not, but my skin started to deteriorate incredibly.

In 5 months my skin has changed terribly...my under eye skin is sagging as never before and the eyes and face wrinkles have deepened incredibly and new deep ones have appeared. I am shocked; I don't know what on earth is happening with my skin. I don't understand. It is as if I had aged 8 years or more in 5 months. I need your help.

I need you to suggest me some products specially for the eye area that can help me mainly with under eye sagging and also with the wrinkles, obviously not forgetting those for the rest of the face. I need something that works quick and that one can say that has dramatic results. I want to ask you if maybe ALPHA DERMA CE or KINERASE may be the answer.

At first what I want is a quick result even if it only in appearance and not a deep skin transformation. Obviously I want to treat also deeply my skin and not only in appearance but for me this is secondary at the moment. Undoubtedly if there is a way of achieving both things at the same time, the quick and dramatic change and results, and treating in depth my skin.

I leave you this question, hoping desperately that you can help me, and thanking you in advance for your reply and interest.

Thank you for your email. Gosh, I am sorry to hear that things took a turn for the worse for you. It seems as if everything was OK, until you started using the DermaWand. Perhaps you are using it took aggressively?

I have seen research where some people experience a skin breakdown before it rebuilds again....In other words the skin looks bad for a little while, before it strengthens and thickens and gets healthier. This usually happens to those who have extremely damaged skin.

Dr. Pickart, the researcher who discovered copper peptides found this to be true in his research also. He said that some people even experience a re-surging of pimples or breakouts because the treatments help to uncover and bring all the impurities to the surface. While this may not be pleasant, it is good for the skin in the long run.

If I were you I would stop using everything for a week or two and give the skin a rest. Then very slowly add back the Neova cream for a week or so and then the Replenix 3x and then finally the DermaWand and see how that works for you.

In the meantime, I know you're looking for instant results - I recently discovered, but haven't tried yet, Dermajuv Cosmeceutical Treatment.

Thanks again for your answers. I would like to know if the DERMAJUV INSTANT EFFECTS LIFTING SERUM
may be used around the eyes, which is precisely where my skin looks more aged.

Also I would like to know if you have heard something about the effects of the NU FACE device. I already asked you about the Nu Skin Galvanic Spa, and I bought it. Whenever I feel I may give you any comments about its effects, I will; I have just used it a few times so its to early to know.

But as the Nu skin Galvanic Spa and the Nu Face work in a different manner, I would like to know if the NU FACE device may help me.Thank you in advance for your answer.

Hi Maria,

Yes, the DERMAJUV INSTANT EFFECTS LIFTING SERUM can be used around the eyes...that is where I mostly use it. All around the under eye, upper eye lids, between the forehead, and out towards the side where crows feet tend to develop. I really notice a difference especially on the upper eyelids.

I wanted to see the difference so I put it on one eye and not the other and waited about 15 min. I noticed the eye with the serum was wider, more open and smoother looking. Just remember one thing...don't crinkle the eye area or frown for about 15 min. after you put the serum on. Let it dry first so it can flatten and lift out the wrinkles.

About the NuFace product, from what I understand it is a micro current skin toning device. Meaning it delivers micro currents to stimulate muscles and help restore lost tone to the muscles under the skin. It is supposed to also increases blood flow and cell turnover, in addition to helping to build collagen.

You can accomplish the same thing for a lot less money with face exercises. Plus, face exercises (if done correctly) also lightly massages the skin - which causes it to get thicker and healthier.

While neither product gives great details on how they work.....it seems from the description that NU FACE device and the Nu Skin Galvanic Spa work on similar principles, but the Galvanic Spa is much more potent. In fact, some people with fair sensitive skin complained of skin burns...so start slowly!!

I would like to ask you one more thing: Have you heard of any concrete opinions from your colleagues or from people that have written to you in your web page, telling you about real experiences with the Nu Skin Galvanic Spa, and if the results are as amazing as one sees in the Internet?. I would like to know if it really helps tightening skin, for example around the eyes, and reducing wrinkles in a drastic way...

Hi Maria,

Research reports from the Nu Skin - company that makes the product - found that study participants who used the Galvanic Spa Facial and the gels/creams that come with it saw in improvement in skin texture, skin clarity, and skin brightness. But of course that was from the company that actually makes and sells the product.

I have not spoken to anyone personally who has used this product. But I do know one person who is planning to purchase it soon and I'm anxious to her what she has to say.....I'll let you know as soon as she reports to me.

Thank you VERY much for your answer.. I am sorry to insist, but I would appreciate if you give me your opinion on the devices I mentioned I wanted to buy...Do they do what they claim to do? Is it worth buying them? If I had to choose to buy one first, which one would you suggest me to start with if I don't want to buy both at the same time?

I would also appreciate if you tell me, since you have not used Dermajuv, why did you suggest this option, over Alpha Derma or Kinerase. And if I were to buy eventually one of these last two products I mentioned (Kinerase or Alpha Derma), which one do you think would be better in my case?..

Sorry if I didn't answer your question completely. First, I recommended Dermajuv because you asked for something that gives quick results while helping the skin in the long run.

Dermajuv provides an instant lift/smoothing of the skin - while repairing the skin over the long term. The reason why I chose this product is: - First - the research (if you go to their site on the top left side of the screen you'll see links to their research papers.) The research was pretty impressive.

The second reason why I chose Dermajuv is because it was recommend to me by a woman I met who is a skin care instructor and consumer advocate researcher.

Now the reason why I chose Dermajuv over Alpha Derma or Kinerase, is that it is newer in terms of technology. Skin care technology is pretty amazing and changes/improves so quickly. Alpha Derma CE contains one of the 3 common peptides that are popular these days in products that help "freeze" the wrinkle - sort of like a topical Botox.

However, Dermajuv contains a whole new peptide and other new ingredients like a tightening agent called SeasFlash, that also lifts the skin and hydrates it.

Kinerase doesn't compare to any of these two products. It works totally different more like a Retin-A product. It helps to slough off the top dead skin cells (like Retin-A) which reduces the depth of a wrinkle over time.....this may take months to a year. It is a good product, but older and can't be compared to the action of the first two (Alpha Derma C and Dermajuv) because it has totally different actions.

As far as the devices, the Galvanic Spa looks to have the better research/results. Again, it has newer technology and is more advanced.

I hope I've answered your questions. Keep in mind that it's impossible for me to predict "exactly" which products or devices will give you the best results. Nobody can........unfortunately :-(
