What kind of complexion do you have? Is it clear, smooth with a radiant glow? How does it feel after you wash it? Is it comfortable -- not too dry/tight or too oily or greasy.
Let's face it -- an oily complexion is really a problem.
Your makeup won't stay on, it looks shiny & blotchy, pores are enlarged or clogged, and some of you probably suffer from blackheads and pimples.
And, finding a something that really works is just as difficult. Many products made for this condition can cause too much dryness or cause your face to become flaky or irritated. This only leads to more problems and -- which leads to even more oil production and often more breakouts. This effect is called the "Rebound Effect".

Here are 3 simple steps. Follow these 3 steps - 5 minutes a day -- it is really that simple.
Avoid Harsh Cleansers - Many cleansers contain lauryl sulfate and sodium laureth sulfate. These powerful detergents cause more oil production and damage the upper layer of the dermis and destroy the naturally good occurring bacteria that protects....especially against breakouts and acne. Instead try a pH balanced, chemical free, gentle cleanser to just reduce the upper layer of excess oil and unclog pores.
Avoid Harsh Astringents - Biggest mistake!! DON'T use alcohol based astringents. They only make the situation worse in the long run. Consider using a dermatologist-developed natural fruit-based serum to gently remove excess oil, exfoliate dead cells to unclog pores, lighten spots, and fine lines and wrinkles too. This is important for those over 30 years of age.
Moisturize - Don't forget to moisturize, this is one of the most important tips...not matter how oily, you still need hydration to keep it looking healthy. But try to stick with super light moisturizers - maybe ones that contain herbs or plant extracts and make sure they are free from heavy waxes and can help regulate oil production.
Other oily skin tips to consider if you suffer from really bad breakouts or blackheads is consider using pore cleaning strips. This can help clean up the pores a bit which can help reduce blackheads. Use it right after a hot shower - but make sure your face is dry.
And speaking of hot shower, a sauna or just steaming the face is a good idea to open the pores and clean them out. This would be a good time to use a fruit acid based serum to dissolve the hardened oil plug that caught in the pores.
Finally, another great suggestion is applying a healing botanical oil absorbing mask a few times a week. You can also apply the mask just to special areas where there are breakouts are really bad to help clear them up while you sleep.
