Skin Needling - Skin Roller
Skin needling has been around for a while and while it is considered much safer that other anti aging procedures like laser or chemical peel, it should be done by a skin care professional for best results.
Some of the advantages of professional needling treatments as opposed to chemical or laser peels include less chance of: - burns
- infection
- scaring
- high cost of cosmetic procedures
How Does the Skin Roller Work?
Skin needling or rolling causes hundreds of very small puncture wounds on the skin, causing the body’s natural wound healing response to kick in – causing the body to produce new collagen that fills in lines, wrinkles, scars and increasing blood supply to the skin. And best of all this process continues for up to 12 months after treatment.
This may sound worse than it is. After all how do you think acid, laser, and chemical peels work? They cause slight damage to the upper layers of the skin, causing your body to launch into repair mode, making new skin and collage. But, the nice thing about the roller, it does not cause deep damage or peel the epidermis.

Collagen Induction Therapy
Collagen Induction Therapy or micro needling was originally pioneered by a renowned South African Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Desmond Fernandes. This procedure is a very intense skin needling treatment done by a professional -- who applies a numbing cream on your face before treatment.
The needle lengths they use are much longer and can be uncomfortable, painful, and cause bleeding. For these reasons they are best done by a professional. And while these offered significant results they also required four to seven days downtime.
However, now there are treatments available for home use without the cost and danger of needling or laser.
What Can You Use At Home? - An intensive facial. This facial is performed for 5 days on and 5 days off until you start to see a reduction in fine lines, spots, blotches, and scars. This facial also encourages cell turn over which helps stimulate collagen and elastin fibers within the skin.
And, unlike standard cosmetic procedures to stimulate collagen – like laser resurfacing or chemical peels, or micro-needling - this facial treatment does not damage, burn, or peel the upper layers of the skin…………so there is no downtime, no healing process, and no side effects.
One of the reasons why it works so well is the combination of the mineral clay scrub and professional grade glycolic peel. Also, you control the frequency for a gentle, but continuous collagen stimulation - without having to pay the high cost of microdermabrasion or other cosmetic treatments. One kit contains up to 20 sessions.
As we age, our production of collagen starts to slow down, which is why our skin begins to thin out, sag, and become lined and wrinkled.
After just one treatment most people see a difference in their complexion and remodeling continues for weeks after each treatment. So your results are cumulative (add-up) and while most people begin to see small improvements in about 3 to 4 treatments, most people report dramatic results in after about 10 sessions.
Unlike laser and chemical peels, this facial treatment works well for most people of color without too. You see people of color usually have a hard time with peels because there is always a risk of uneven skin tone after healing.
