Bisil strange behavior
by: Anonymous

Biosil has become a hard, gel-like substance inside the dropper. This was originally liquid Biosil. Is it safe to consume, and if so, how do I get to become a liquid again?

-----------------------------
Hi,

There is no way for me to know if it's safe to consume it if the liquid has hardened. I've never had that happen with my bottles. It could be old. I would take it back to the store it was purchased from and ask them.

Taking biosil and having a mucous bowel movement
by: Lori

I had breast cancer and have to take Anastrozole for 5 years. Soon to be cancer free for 2 years this August.

The Anastrazole causes your joints to hurt more and promotes aging. I can hardly move my fingers and if bending, they stick and my hip joint goes out and is very painful. This is disheartening.

However, I started taking Collagen, powder form, for about 2 months now. It has helped a bit. Got some biosil 2 days ago and found, what looked like a gel formation, kind of like muscous, but not mucous.

Is this normal for taking biosil? I hope that it is still entering my body to help with my joints. Can you please advise. Thanks

---------------------------

Hello Lori,

Congratulations on being cancer free!

I can understand your concern and a your desire to find natural relief from aching joints.

Unfortunately, I really can't advise as I am not a physician. But I can tell you that personally, I have never read or seen any documented studies linking Biosil and mucous bowel movements.

The only side effects that I have seen about Biosil typically involve stomach upset and loose stools. And these side effects usually happen if you take more than is recommended.

If you feel there is a connection, maybe you should you stop using it for a few days and see if it clears up.

Also, you probably should mention this to your physician - especially if you are taking any prescribed medication.

Good luck to you.....

Gnat
by:

Hi Gnat,

Thanks for your question.

To date, I am not aware of any side effects or negative interactions associated with Biosil and blood pressure or diabetic medications.

However, it's still very important that you inform your doctor of any supplements you plan on taking.

Biosil is a natural supplement made from orthosilicic acid.

Orthosilicic acid is what your body uses to help make collagen, which is why Biosil has been shown in studies to help support healthy hair, nails, skin, joints, and even arteries.

You can read more about Biosil at this link:
What is Biosil.

I hope this information has helped.

-------------------------------------
I saw Biosil advertised on the internet. My sister and I would love to try it. We have health issues and not sure if Biosil would help or harm us. I am a type 2 diabetic and is controlled with medication, my blood pressure is controlled as well. I am 63 years, my hair has always been thin, now it is getting worse. Do you think Biosil would help my problem. My sister is a breast cancer survivor since 2011. she had shoulder length, now it looks like a short afro. Can you please send me the website so that we may place our order.

Thanks

biosil side effects - acid reflux?
by: Anonymous

I'm a BioSil user, and have to admit that it has helped eliminate the stiffness from my joints :) It also helps me sleep better at night ... only, it does trigger indigestion sometimes, even though I only take one dosage w/ a meal (2 a day).

So, what would you recommend to take along w/ the BioSil, if any herbal supplemental form, to stop the acid reflux? I don't want to stop the BioSil for this, because it (BioSil) has helped me in more ways than one! Thanks :)

Jan E, Mississippi

Hi Jan,

Thanks for your email regarding BioSil side effects. I have been using it for many years – mostly to keep my skin and hair healthy and fortunately, never had a problem with it.

However, I have read that for some folks, it can aggravate acid reflux issues.....which is a shame because there are so many great benefits with BioSil.

It's not that BioSil causes it, but for those who have reflux problems, the main ingredient (orthosilic acid) can aggravate it. You can read more about this on the National Osteoporosis Foundation forum.

Unfortunately, I don't know of any herbs that you can take to minimize the problem, however, here are a few suggestions that might help:

1. You may wish to consider using the capsule form (instead of the liquid) as some people notice this helps. Also, try taking it after your meal when you stomach is full.

2.Do you currently take any medication for the reflux problem? If so, consider taking your medication after your last dose of BioSil.

3. Also, some say that adding aloe vera juice to their drinking water can help too. Try drinking this after your last meal with your BioSil.

4. Have you ever considered trying digestive enzymes? As we get older, this becomes increasingly important.

I'm not sure which brand would be best for your situation – unfortunately, I'm not sure which one would be best for your situation.

You might have to try a few brands before you find one that works best for you.

I hope this information has been helpful.

Biosil and Drug Reaction?
by: Anonymous

I'm am very interested in and eager to try BioSil's ch-OSA.

My question is: Because BioSil ch-OSA contains chorine that stabilizes the OSA, will this product have an adverse, or any, reaction with prescription potassium cloride ?

Thank you for your answer.

Hello and thank you for your question regarding Biosil, side-effects, and potassium chloride.

According to FDA information on potassium chloride (from drugs.com) it does not appear to be contraindicated with orthosilicic acid.

However, your medication may have inactive ingredients that could cause allergic reactions to other supplements or medication.

That is why it is always best to check with your doctor before taking any herbs, vitamins, minerals, or medications.

You can also consider checking with your local pharmacist. Perhaps he might be able to answer your question.

Thanks.
