Sunscreen CAUSES Cancer? Sunscreen DangersYes, you read the headline correctly! There is some new research suggesting that certain sunscreens may cause cancer! Researchers from the University of California suspect that certain commonly used chemicals found in most popular commercial sunscreens may actually cause skin cancer.
In addition, they suspect that some sunscreen products may not protect us against certain cancers- like basal cell carcinoma or melanoma…..very popular skin cancers. Does your sunscreen contain one or more of these suspecting chemicals? To read more about safe sunscreens and sunscreen dangers ….click here Sun Safety - What’s The Best Sunscreens.

The Best Makeup Foundation – Best Non Comedogenic FoundationWith the warm weather upon us and many of our actives shift to the outdoors, we need a makeup that won’t look like mask in the bright sunlight and won’t melt away while sweating or swimming. Of course the best foundation makeup will vary from person to person depending on what type of skin they have and how much coverage they require.
In my opinion, the hardest makeup to work with is a full coverage foundation makeup or waterproof makeup foundation. While they may look great in soft evening light – they often look heavy and mask like in harsh daylight. I also had a hard time finding a mineral based makeup that didn’t make my skin look powdery and dry.
Waterproof Makeup Foundation/Full Coverage Foundation Makeup
I’ve played around with a few different makeup brands like Bobbie Brown Makeup, Lancome Makeup, and Dermablend. But for full coverage, waterproof makeup foundation – I think Dermablend is best. This is not the old fashion, heavy Dermablend from years ago…. Their new break-through formula now offers more coverage without the heavy feel. It covers a number of skin imperfections along the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles or pores and looks very light and natural.
Mineral Foundation Makeup
If you’re more comfortable with powdered makeup, mineral makeup is the way to go during the hot summer months. Mineral Makeup Foundation is especially perfect for those suffering from skin disorders like acne, rosacea and psoriasis. And, many of the newer ones like Bare Minerals Foundation and Urban Decay offer fantastic full coverage.
The best part is research now shows that a natural mineral based makeup is actually good for your skin due to the added zinc oxide with serves as a sun protector and anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory agent.

Fresh Fruity FacialSummer is almost here and it’s time to get your complexion in top condition by using this fresh fruity strawberry facial. You can improve your complexion and help reduce acne, age spots, fine lines, dryness, and wrinkles with these home remedies and facials.
Strawberries are in season right now and you’re sure to have a few left over – that are too ripe to eat. So instead of throwing them out, try this natural skin care recipe that’s high in potassium, magnesium, and vitamin C, and K. Vitamin K is especially important for broken veins and capillaries.
In addition, strawberries contain potent antioxidants and are high in phenols - which have anti-inflammatory properties – great for skin inflammatory diseases like acne. They’re also rich in salicylic acid, which is an exfoliating ingredient found in most expensive anti-aging creams and commercial acne products. This mask also serves as an easy simple face cleanser…..
(Please note: if you have very sensitive skin, try this mask on a small section first before applying to the entire face. And, if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in this mask…do not use it.)
What You’ll Need:
1/2 c over ripe Strawberries
To Reduce Oily Skin: add a 1/4 cup Cornstarch or lemon juice.
To Reduce Enlarged Skin Pores: Add one egg white.
