botox side effects - complications

About a month ago, I had botox injections in between my eyebrows due to the wrinkles there. Two weeks ago, my right eye seems to be vibrating somewhat off and on. Is this related to the botox injections?

Thanks for your email. It is very unlikely that Botox is causing the eye twitching..as Botox is used to paralyze muscles and is sometimes used to stop muscle twitching.

Eye twitching is often the result of fatigue, sleepiness, even allergies. I have experienced this before and found that taking the minerals magnesium and potassium along with a good nights sleep has really helped.

Botox injection complications.

Does the paralysis of the fore head muscles & eye lid heaviness after botox injection remain forever.
Does the shape of the eye & eye brows return to their normal shape before the injection or lost forever?

Thanks for your question. Sometimes the botox injection can seep down can cause droopy eyelids. This is not very common but can happen. And, yes it will wear off in a few months and all will return to normal.

Botox Cream For Face???

Yes, there is a very light serum that helps to lift, smooth, and plump out the wrinkles. It takes 15 minutes to work ( the manufacture says 5 but for me it's more like 15 minutes) and lasts for 8-12 hours.


Over time it also helps to reduce skin damage and aging. This is something that Botox injections can't do. And, it's much cheaper.

Thanks for your email regarding homemade botox. Well, there is a new product on the market that can help reduce wrinkling and temporarily lift the skin....similar to a botox injection, but of course not as drastic or as expensive.

How to prevent wrinkles , how do face exercise work and how do botox injections work?

Hi,

Can you explain what are wrinkles or what causes them and how I can prevent wrinkles with face exercise? Also, how does botox work to stop or get rid of them? Sorry for all the questions. I'm only 34 and don't have that many yet, but my mother and sisters do. So I'm afraid that I'm going to be the same as them when I get older.

Thanks for your question. A wrinkle is skin crease that is caused by the skin is adhering to the underlying muscle. When a muscle contracts frequently, it pulls the skin with it creating a valley or dip.

Botox freezes the muscle so it can't move and neither will the skin. But when the botox injection wears off, you're right to were you started.

Face exercises is a more permanent approach in that it helps to strengthen the muscle and un-adheres the skin from the muscle. So making a frown won't cause the skin to fold.

A good Facial Exercise program can not only help release the skin from the tissue, but shows you how to rub the wrinkle lightly to make the skin firmer and smooth out the wrinkle so they don't appear as deep.
