facial fitness for younger face
by: swati

Hi, I m just 26 years old lady and I am very worry about my face because my right side of face is look more older then my left side. and jaw lines are also visible and my skin is also puffy. and I look more then my actual age. Please help me and tell me some facial exercise which will help me.

Hi Swati,

Some people, due to their facial structure seem to age faster than others. But facial exercises can help.

I like Carolyn's Facial Fitness. I think this facial exercise is the best.

You should see my before and after picturs of my neck.

Even though only one side of your face bothers you - you shouldn't spot train your face - because eventually all the areas of your face will age and be of concern for you.

However, here are some basic sample exercises to get you started. These exercises target the eyelids, crow's feet and jowl/double chin/neck area.

This could help tighten your lower jowl area.

Face Exercises for Nose
by: white flower

I have a surgery for my nose and I want to know if there are any exercises I can do to keep its new lovely shape. Thank you ...

Hello,

Thanks for your email. Generally, if you have had Rhinoplasty (nose surgery) your nose shape won't change much with age...unlike a natural nose which tends to droop with age.

However, Carolyn's Facial Fitness program does cover a simple exercises to keep the nose in a youthful shape.

There is the

- Nose Shaper - to give shape to the nose and diminish creases below the nose.

- Nose Slide - this fills out the sides of the nose giving it more definition.

- Nostril Firmer - this one firms up the nostrils and smooths out the skin on either side of the nose.

n/l folds
by: ali

hi linda,
caroyln asked me to stop doing all the exercises except this one for n.l folds.

Place the whole length of your index fingers from each hand across the laugh lines The tip of your index finger rests against the outside wing of the nose nostrils Your thumbs rest under your chin with the tips touching each other Wrinkle your nose up like a rabbit and hold Smile with the corners of your mouth Press firmly and uniformly along this laugh line the whole length of your index finger and hold Count to ten and release Repeat 5 times
Remember to press down firmly

was wondering if you are aware of this exrecise.
AS i have noticed when the nose is scrunched hard like a rabbit , dont we use the muscles from upper lip esecially bottom of nose..
wouldnt it increase the gap between the lip and nose wing.

Carolyn doesnt seem to think , but i have noticed that the pull of scrunch is from the area between the top lip and nose wings.

what do you say?

take care,
ali

Hi Ali,

Glad to hear your getting the specifics from Carolyn...she has lots of special exercises in he pocket that she has researched for years and years to help people with special concerns.

Not everyone responds exactly the same. I see/understand your concern....I've had some too. But I followed her advice and things worked for me..

Personally, I would follow her advice since she has done much more research and TESTING in this area. I know sometimes it seems that working a certain seems counter productive.....

But you have to remember.......many muscles are connected and working one or two actually affects others that we are concerned with.

If you click on this link Muscle Chart and scroll down to the muscle chart, you'll be amazed on how one muscle pulls and tones another.

I hope I was able to provide some answer to your question :-)

I would trust Carolyn completely because she has done the research on a variety of cases and situations. It's true what she told me - not everyone has the same resutls due to different facial structures and lifestyle habits. But it sounds like she worked this one specifically for your situation.

I congratulate you on keeping with it - give it a few weeks before you decide it's not working because it does take that much time to see some results.

Please feel free to contact me anytime you have anymore questions or concerns. And, I'd love to see pictures too!!

Respectfully,
Linda

plz plz help
by: ali

Hi Ali,

I contact Carolyn about your delima and here is what she said:

I'm sorry she's not having good results. I have heard of this before and it's due to possibly several things.

First of all, Is she exercising for her age group:

Under the age of 32, exercise only 2 or 3 times a week

And, is she performing the Face Firmer with every workout?

It sounds to me as if some parts of her face are building faster than other parts. This happens from time to time. It also happens when clients are NOT performing all 28 exercises at a workout. They spot build.

Some areas of the face build faster than other parts, like the cheeks and it can make the nasal/labial fold lines look as if they're hanging when in reality, they have not lifted YET, with the newly toned cheeks
.

hi linda,
Since my last post i bought the exercises and have been using it regularly.

My nose to mouth lines were like little parenthesis but after using the program they have transformed into folds(which looks terrible),
hanging downwards + ihave lost fat under eye , next to nose going all the way to cheeks , which inreturn gives me creepy look..and shows creases under eyes and fine lines on cheeks , all in all my face doesnt look balanced like before..

is there any way to gain the fat under eyes, nose to cheeks , back?

would cp serum work?(only skinbiology sells in uk)
retin a?( is it okay for my age which is 32).
what if i eat carbs and fatty food,

plz help me as i am so depressed just want my old face back..
if u want i can send my pics to you to show how much it changed in the space of 4 weeks.

Hello,

thanks for your email. I'm at a total loss as to what to tell you. I've never heard of anyone having problems with Carolyn's facial exercise program.

Yes, I would use a good cream like copper peptides for best results. Also, you mentioned not eating carbs, a low carb diet will dehydrate your skin and - at least in my case - makes my skin looks horrible!

Are you using Carolyn's facial exercise program? Or another one? Are you following them exactly? I've gotten great results with her program.

For most people when they stop facial exercising they're face goes back to the way it was before they started. I would suggest you stop exercising for a month or two to see what happens.

Also, consider contacting Carolyn at: carolyn@carolynsfacialfitness.com

and tell her of your situation. Perhaps you're doing something wrong. In the mean time, I did forward your email to her....so we'll see what advice she has.

smile lines
by: sha

Hi,
Yea i checked the website, though not much information in FAQ section.
Anyway i dropped an email to her.
MY main concern is that when the top top lip is stretched all the way on , under and around the front teeth,(which creates a pull and stretching in and around nose and mouth area) ,

this stretching of lip makes the gap between the base of nose and upper lip wide , since that area is in constant stretch over the front lip.

I don't know if any one else experienced the same development for the upper lip and also the smile lines are more visible and apparent after the first two weeks of exercise? is it normal
could you kindly suggest any other exercise for smile lines. thank you for the reply earlier.
take care,
sha

Hi Sha,

How are you? I'm glad you contacted Carolyn - as she developed these exercises and may have some modification suggestions based on your specific concern.

I don't know if you've seen the Interactive Muscle Chart. Click on the link and scroll down until you see a colored muscle/face chart.

Then click on that chart.

It shows which exercise works which muscle. The 2nd row of exercises starting with one called:The Kiss.....and ending with Jowl Lifter all work the lower half of the face from the nasal labial fold, whole mouth area, to the jowls...

Like I said before you really can't spot train just one area...as all the muscle are interconnected. Different exercises work different parts of the same muscle.

That is why there are several different exercises for the lower face.

I'd be very interested in what Carolyn tells you. Please write back if you get a chance and let me know how it goes.

Thanks so much,
Linda

dvd tip
by: sha

I have been doing carolyn excercises for a while. Just wanted to know when lips are in oval shape(for cheek lift and o shape smile for nasal lines) , and top lip pressing tightly with top teeth, how far down i have to stretch it i mean do i stretch it and press all the way over top teeth making a monky shape, or just a normal stretch ? hope i tried to make it as clear as possible. sha

Hi Sha,

The way I understand it is that your lips should stretch all the way over and under the front and bottom teeth.

You want the face muscles tight - that is key to her exercises being so successful.

Here is what she says on her website:

The technique of tightening the muscles before sliding across the skin exerts an extra stretch on the fascia, connecting the underlying muscles and the skin as well as exerting more direct forces on the skin itself (with likely activates the skin to become more active metabolically).

Visit her Face Exercise site and read her FAQ for more get information and explanation of how the exercises work...

Hope this helps..

crease under eye skin
by: phil

Hi Linda,

I am 32 years old and have recently lost alot of fat from face especially eye area(weight training).

Due to that i have developed lines one under each eye starting from nose bridge and going under the eye about half an inch and meeting the very top of cheek bone on the side.

I was wondering is there any facial workout out to restore some fat and reduce the the line depth and also can i use copper peptide serum?

Do you know any place in UK where they sell it.I have been using boots no 7 protect and perfect antiageing serum( which had good reviews given by scientists on BBC).

Hi Phil,

Congrats on the weight loss! As far as adding fat back to the eye area area, short of surgery (Restylan or some type of filler injections) you can't really add volume there...but you can lift the cheek muscles and help thicken the skin in that area...so the skin won't fold/crease so easily.

Since you're a man - you have thicker skin than women - and since you're young....a good thick moisturizer will help reduce the appearance of those lines pretty easily.

Unfortunately, I don't know where to get copper peptides in the UK. Sorry......

As far as facial exercising, Carolyn provides a few free exercises on this video. One of the exercises cover the eye area. Check it out.....She is over 63 years old and look how great her skin is.

Try the exercises here on this video Eye and Face Exercises

I hope this information has helped.

Thanks
Linda

inner cheek lines
by: Anonymous

Thanx for the quick reply.

What I get from what you have written is that
when when we scrunch the nose, the skin joining the nose is lifted upwards and with the pressure of fingers is pushed down along with the nose.

Is that correct? does the actual skin goes down (and for that hard pressure has to be applied ) or just the little sliding is enough, which of course wont push the skin down forcefully .

Let me take this opportunity to state that this website has been very detailed and informative for me interms of facial health.

Thanx again for being very helpful
regards,
ali

Hi Ali,

Yes! You got it. You said:

the skin joining the nose is lifted upwards and with the pressure of fingers is pushed down along with the nose.. is that correct? do the actual skin goes down (and for that hard pressure has to be applied ) , or just the little sliding is enough, which ofcourse wont push the skin down forcefully ..

When you scrunch your nose, the skin AND muscle gets lifted upward. The purpose of sliding your fingers down the sides of your nose and then wing out across the cheeks - is to push down the skin and muscle.

Do this in sort of a massaging/gliding movement. If you look in the mirror - even a little pressure will make the skin (and muscle) go down.

It's hard for me to tell you how much pressure, but as long as you are creating some sort of resistance - that's hard enough.

The whole point of this exercise is for two reasons....Fist - to tone/build up the underlying muscle. This fills out the face which tends to droop and deflate as we age.

Second - to tone up the skin via the massaging method. That is why I love Carolyn's Facial Fitness program. She incorporates facial muscle building along with skin massaging - not skin pulling/tugging - like some other programs have you doing.

I've tried (and bought) tons of facial exercise programs. Been doing them off and on since 1999. And finally settled on Carolyn's program because it's faster (only 15 min) to do the whole face. I think there are 40 exercises total.

The others I've tried took over 45min!! Who has that time? It's hard enough to find 45 min to exercise my body :-)

Also, some of the other programs had you tugging at your skin so hard, you had to wear gloves so you can get a good grip on your skin. That made me nervous.

What if I was tugging wrong? I could have stretched out or damaged my skin instead of helping it look younger.

I hope this information helped. Sounds like you understand how to do it right. Take care,

Linda

Your very welcome Ali!

Yes, it's hard to explain how to do some of these exercises in writing.

I have the DVD, so I can see it - while Carolyn explains how to do it. She has some free sample exercise videos on her site, but not that particular one. That one and the rest are on her DVD.

Let me know if I can help you or clarify it more.

Thanks,
Linda

smile line
by: Anonymous

hi ya,
I have been doing the nasal falboid exercise and have developed a line going from my side of nose in to eye, which makes the smile line look extremely long.

Is there any exercise for the line next to joining into the nose bridge?or to reduce lines from the inner part of cheeks just next to the length of nose?
regards,
ali

Hi Ali,

Thanks for your email question. Here is a sample exercise to try that helps smooth the wrinkles around the nose/cheek area.

Place your middle & fourth fingers on each side of your nose...near your inner eye area.

Scrunch your nose (like a rabbit), then slide your fingers slightly down your nose (like trying to unscrunch or push the nose muscle down) and then slide your fingers out across your cheeks.

Do this for a count of 3 down your nose and 3 across your cheek. Do 10 reps of this exercise.

you might consider doing the whole facial exercise session (all 40 exercises) - so that your face is balanced.

Spot training is not the best way to go - because as Carolyn says.....eventually all areas of your face will concern you as you age.

If you click here you'll see more examples:

Hope this helps.....

I've had the mouth lines since my mid 20s and been doing some other exercise for the past year and the line on the left of my face faded greatly but I can't seem to be rid of the one on my right. Hopefully this will help it.

by: Anonymous

hi Linda,
can u give me video clips for liner from nose to mouth..because I don't really understand that exercise..i m 33 yrs old..but my lines from nose to mouth is very prominent..
--------------------------
Hi There,

If you tell what part you don't understand, I'd be happy to explain it better. I don't have any video clips of my own, I purchased a video from Carolyn Facial Fitness.

She taught me how to perform all the exercises correctly. I like her tape the best because it's the short with the fastest results.

You can find some samples here on her site at this link here:
Sample Face Exercises.

Scroll down to the end where you see her picture, then click on her link.....

Thanks,
