I bought the facial exercises DVD and was wondering what the neck firmer exercise is for besides neck wrinkles?

Hello Carol,

Thanks for your question regarding the neck firmer exercise. Well, to put it simply, the neck firmer does a lot more than just help reduce neck lines or rings. The main purpose of this exercise is to tighten and firm the muscles and skin in the neck area and help reduce a double chin.

However, since the face muscles, skin and connective tissue are all intertwined, building up muscles in the front of the neck can also help lift jowls and even help reduce hooded eyelids. If you click here (facial exercises muscle chart and scroll to the bottom, you can see an interactive muscle chart and have a better understanding of how the muscles of the face are connected.

You can do the neck firmer exercise a couple times a day (in addition to your regular 15 min. session) for even faster reduction of neck rings.

Another exercise that helps firm up the muscles in the neck area and reduce that crepy thin skin is the neck strengthener. This one also exercises the eyes improving flexibility.

But remember, while it's ok to do extra exercises for troubled areas, but don't spot train. It's important to do all 28 exercises (which only takes 15 minutes) a few times week for a balanced elegant look.

Neck Exercise for wrinkles called the brush

Editors Note:

In reference to neck wrinkles and a double chin, there is a new exercise that is even more effective than the previous one on Carolyn's exercise dvd.

It's called the Brush. Do this once a day. I like to do it right after washing my is what you do:
After washing your face, you apply a cream of your choice.

Then make a fist with your hand…….

Using the knuckles of your fist, gently, but firmly “brush” the whole under chin area.

Make sure to concentrate on the jaw bone, I think this helps firm up the jowl line.

Continue brushing the sides of your neck (up and down motion) and continue going all around the neck, from the side, to the middle, the front, then to the opposite side of your neck.
