While there might be some side effects to linked to Accutane, it wasn't until recently that people became aware how serious they can be.

Event despite the side effects, to some people this drug has been a god sent and has done wonders to clear up severe cases. If you've had experience (good or bad) with Accutane, please take the time to post your message in the forum below.

We especially would like to hear how this drug fared for older people with drier mature or aging skin. There are plenty of older adults who suffer from acne too.

This drug was originally approved in 1982 for severe and resistant cases only. And at least 5 million people have taken it. While the drug did have warning of birth defects, many patients included women were of childbearing age.

However, lately severe sides have been attributed to the use of this acne medication. Researchers have been investigating the link between Accutane and the following side effects:

• Inflammatory bowel disease
• Crohn’s disease
• Colitis
• Loss of vision
• Loss of hearing
• Growth disc problems
• depression
• suicidal tendencies
