Just like anti-aging creams, skin vitamins play an important role in a healthy complexion -- a fact that has been confirmed many times over in health and medical journals.
But many people are confused as to what constitutes a good skin vitamin. As a Health Advisor people would often ask me "what vitamins do I need for a great complexion ?" Well, there are several important vitamins....
Ingesting water soluble vitamins such as vitamin B,C and minerals such as zinc and copper, are powerful antioxidants that can have a huge impact on how fast you age.
But applying certain vitamins topically directly to the dermis can also bring about great results. For example:
Vitamin A - Like Retin-A or Retinols can help fight lines and sun damage by promoting cell turn over.
Vitamin C - Like pure crystal ascorbic acid can help brighten and protect from general aging and pollution. Pure vitamin C can also reduce spots and uneven patches.
Honey and Sea Salts - While honey is not specifically a vitamin it is rich in minerals and other healing nutrients as ocean vegetables. In fact, the FDA approved the use of Manuka Honey for it's ability to heal wounds and burns.
One of the benefits of vitamins is the protection against Free radicals which are nasty by-products of our environment and can destroy collagen and elastin -- causing wrinkles to form faster.
Also, did are aware of the benefits of Zinc For Acne? Some research shows that it can be helpful in controlling acne In fact, some experts believe that acne is a symptom of a zinc deficiency.

Are You Taking Diet Drugs That May Interfere With Important Vitamins?
Many diet drugs - even the over-the-counter ones like Alli, can affect your complexion and health. Alli is a fat blocker meaning it blocks the absorption of those all essential fatty acids and fat soluble vitamins that help keep the dermis moist and soft.
It binds with those fats so they can't be digested and carries them out of the body, but that also means your complexion won't get them either.
Certain fats like omega-3 fatty acids are very important for your complexion. They act as antioxidants to strengthen and protect. They are important for the life cycle of dermis cells, and helps prevent acne and dry scaly complexion.
What To Do
If your dieting and/or taking drugs like Alli make sure you also take a good vitamins that contain fat soluble vitamins (A, D, and E). Your daily vitamins should contain at least 5,000 IU of vitamin A (including mixed carotenoids), 400 -800 IU of vitamin D and no less than 400 IU of vitamin E.
And make sure not to take these vitamins when you take Alli – Space them out a few hours before or after taking Alli.
